NEW YEAR, NEW THREADS The Newest Fashion Trends for Men in 2018

Are you getting tired of wearing the same old things that are SO LAST YEAR? Or maybe you just have absolutely no idea where to start when it comes to what to wear? Or are you the guy who sees the word “fashion” and runs the other way? No matter. Us here at ManScore have a few thoughts, tips, and new trends to revamp even the most unsalvageable of men’s wardrobes. After all, isn’t the phrase “look good, feel good”? So, check out these new trends that will have you feeling perfectly spiffy, and unquestionably manly.

Denim, Denim, Denim
Jeans to a man’s wardrobe is like peanut butter to jelly. But just like your PB&J, jeans have to be just right—and by that we mean, FIT just right. So, stop all that sagging, and get that ManScore up by purchasing jeans that hug you in all the right places. While you’re at it, how about trying to buy more than one pair…in various shades of denim to be exact (i.e. light wash, dark wash, black, etc.). But don’t stop there! Denim jackets are making a comeback this year, and we know they will be the perfect new addition to any man’s closet.

Cuban-Style Collared Shirts
For those of you who don’t know, the Cuban collar is an old-school staple that has seemed to come back in style. Making its first appearance in the American fashion world in the 1950s, these kinds of collars played a part in the rebellious youth-culture for that era of men. In today’s fashion, we normally see Cuban collars on Hawaiian shirts—but the two are hardly synonymous. And frankly, we are glad for that! If you’re thinking about adding anything new to your wardrobe, this is one style shirt that can certainly be used when you’re dressing up or dressing down. But be sure to look for this style in a solid color, with a light and breathable body material (i.e. cotton or viscose).

Vertical Stripes
It’s hard to remember a time when stripes weren’t a pattern that was “in-trend”. After all, they are a key staple to any wardrobe. Their versatility is what makes them so favorable. But for 2018, it’s the vertical stripes that seem to be the most favored. Find this pattern in t-shirts, slacks, blazers, or even scarfs. The vertical design has a slimming and lengthening effect that any man could benefit from. Look for subtle colors and thin lines—but for a bolder look, try multicolored stripes.

Mid-Length Swim Trunks
Like your jeans, your swim trunks should fit just right! And let us tell ya, those long, baggy swim trunks you have been wearing since 8th grade have had their day in the sun. Time to toss those puppies out, and purchase some trunks that make you look like a real man. Some men like to use the motto, “If you can see thigh muscle, then you’re doing it right!”. But for those of you who may not like to expose their untanned thighs to the burning rays of the sun, a mid-length pair of swim trunks will do just fine. This style of swimwear lays a bit higher than “just-above the knee” and is usually perfectly paired with any pattern from solid colors to the American flag. Top it all off with a drawstring waist, and you have yourself one masculine pair of swimwear.

Business-Casual-Athleisure Wear
Seems like quite a mouthful huh? Or should I say, closetful…Don’t fret, friends—this style of attire has been paving its way in the fashion world more and more as the years pass. With the downfall of tailored suits being worn everyday by all you classy businessmen, we have seen a huge rise in the mixing of business-casual and athleisure attire. Pieces like joggers and sneakers can be paired with polo-style and button-down shirts, along with cardigans and jackets to complete the look. This kind of outfit is perfect for the busy business man who strives to be comfortable while on the job.
