NASCAR’S TOP 5 TRACKS The Loudest Places to Party

ManScore and NASCAR go together like biscuits and gravy! If you want to rack up some man points out on the circuit this season, we have some fan favorites to guide you. With over 20 tracks to choose, a top five list can be a bit subjective. A sampling of over 75 million NASCAR fans has ranked these 5 tracks near the top. Whether you seek track performance and speed or location, history and tradition, these top picks offer something for everyone.

1. Talladega Superspeedway - Talladega, AL
Talladega is a fan favorite. This track was built for speed, in fact restrictor plate racing came about due to Bobby Allison’s high speed crash here in 1987. The first 200 MPH lap took place here along with the fastest 500 mile NASCAR race recorded. Dale Earnhardt posted 10 Cup wins on this track. Fans traveling for the “Talladega Experience” can join in the pre-race Saturday night festivities along Talladega Boulevard (aka the track’s infield). It has been likened to the “Mardi Gras of track parties” with beer, beads and everything (yes everything) that comes with beads! If the family is along we recommend a visit to the National Motorsports Hall of Fame while in town. Let’s not forget this track is the namesake of Will Ferrell’s Talladega Nights (who doesn’t love Ricky Bobby) and now is also immortalized in Eric Church’s song “Talladega”. Round up the boys, sounds like it’s time to pack up the motorhome for a road trip.

2. Martinsville Speedway - Martinsville, VA
This Track is both the oldest and the shortest, at just over a ½ mile, on the NASCAR circuit. It sports asphalt straightaways and concrete turns. Some say the Grandfather clock trophy is the “coolest” of them all. Martinsville is home to the $2.00 pink hot dog, usually topped with chili and onions. These dogs have been around since 1948 just as long as the track. You can’t visit this track without having one…or more! Take a trip to Martinsville and experience some old school NASCAR tradition.

3. Daytona International Speedway - Daytona, FL
Constructed in 1959, this track was the vision of NASCAR founder William “Bill” France Sr. This is home to NASCAR’s most prestigious race, the Daytona 500. The unique design feature of high banked turns allowed for higher speeds and improved fan visibility. This track is the third largest single lit outdoor sports facility. The track’s infield is large enough to include a 29 acre lake used for power boat racing. A 400 million dollar project currently underway called “Daytona Rising” will enhance the fan experience and should be completed in 2016. If you haven’t been to this track it’s time to plan your trip!

4. Charlotte Motor Speedway - Concord, N.C.
Welcome to the Hollywood of racing. This iconic track has been the backdrop of several motion pictures from “Days of Thunder”, “Stroker Ace” and “Talladega Nights” to hosting over 30,000 fans for the world premier of “Cars”. This track is home to NASCAR’s longest race, the Coca Cola 600. Charlotte is a town full of history and tradition. Several race teams call the local area home, make sure to seek out a team shop tour if time permits. If you fall in love with the place you may be able to live right at the track. This speedway has 52 condo units built right above turn one. Charlotte Motor Speedway has established itself as “The Greatest Place to See the Race”, add this one to your list and “Git R Dun”.

5. Bristol Motor Speedway - Bristol, TN
Bristol is one of the shortest and most loved tracks on the circuit, often referred to as “Thunder Valley”, “The World’s Fastest Half Mile” and “The Colosseum”. This track is one of the loudest around, perhaps the result of surrounding mountainous  terrain, its steep banked turns and stadium-like seating. It has definitely earned a place in the top 5 and we hope you get a chance to experience it for yourself. One recommendation…bring ear plugs!
